Outpatient Program

Outpatient Treatment Important for Substance Abuse

Outpatient programs (OPs) offer structured treatment for substance abuse while allowing individuals to continue with work, school, or family obligations. These programs are generally less intensive than IOPs and typically involve one to two sessions per week, lasting about one to two hours each. Treatment often includes group therapy, though individual therapy and educational sessions may also be provided.

Before beginning outpatient treatment, individuals must complete a comprehensive assessment that includes a physical health evaluation, mental health screening, and substance use history. This assessment helps clinicians understand the individual’s needs and how their substance use has affected their daily life. Based on this evaluation, clinical staff determine the most appropriate level of care. If outpatient treatment is deemed suitable, the admissions process will begin, and a personalized treatment plan will be developed to support the individual’s recovery journey.
